Lesson: Overview
Welcome to another video lesson! Today I dive into a subject that is very exciting for me, creating motion and melody with chord playing. I love to expand my chord vocabulary and the ways in which I can be expressive with rhythm playing and chord soloing, so this is one of my favorite areas to work on.
In this lesson I dive into an exercise I’ve created to help you develop melodic motion in your chord playing.
It focuses around the key of G, and specifically the voicings of G on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th strings. I started here because I find these the most user friendly of the different string sets for chord shapes. They sit very nicely under the fingers and so are great ones to learn and get familiar with before jumping into other string sets.
Check out the FREE PDF of the lesson exercise below, and leave me a comment if you have any questions. Happy practicing!
