Lesson: Overview
Today’s lesson covers some further ideas and exercises related to playing better solos.
When you learn scales it is very important to practice them systematically, but how do you move beyond just running the scale to playing interesting solos?
That is what I’m going over in this series. Welcome to part 2 of the “Scales to Solos” lesson series. In this video lesson I introduce my favorite pentatonic scale shape that I call the 2/3 shape. I use this shape to move horizontally across the guitar and connect different scales together.
Practicing this shape will help you with your understanding of the neck and fretboard, and will help you to connect different areas of the fretboard as you progress.
Check out the free materials I’ve provided for you below, and let me know what you think.
